http://www.european-go.org/toyotatour/

19th, 20th and 21st april 2003

This Go event is organized by the French Go Federation with help of Ligue de Go d'Ile-de-France and all clubs from Paris area. It is the biggest go event in Europe, outside the european go congress, since about 250 go players of all levels join every year.

Paris Tournament is the final part of Toyota PandaNet European Go Tour, which means there are a lot of money prizes for strong players, but it is open to all go players, whenever they are member of FFG clubs or from other countries. There were a lot of prizes for all levels including go books for players with 4 wins, and small prizes for all players attending the prize ceremony.

This year, we again benefited from a superb location : the townhall of 13th arondissement of Paris. The strongest players competed near the prestigious 'Salle des mariages' while main playing room was the 'Salle des fêtes'.

275 players from 18 countries participated in the main tournament, including 42 players above Mac Mahon bar. See complete results.

Outside the main tournament, there was a lightning tournament and a team tournament. The traditional sunday party occured in the place of the Paris 20 Go Club and included the end of the lightning tournament.

Yuki Shigeno 2d professional of the Nihon Kiin gave game commentaries during the tournament in a room next to main playing room. There was also two public commentaries : one during registration time on Saturday morning and one just before prizegiving with Fan Hui and Asai Hideki.
